The last two years we had a Strategic Partnership that was aiming at Mapping Professional Open Youth Work in Europe to get a better understanding of the field, collect expectations from young people and youth workers alike and to show more of its effects and values to the outside world.
LOGBOOK is one result of this project and in this third issue we tell a bit more also about other results such as the Declaration of Principles of Professional Open Youth Work.
And we concentrate in this third edition on youth work as a profession. Starting with some thoughts about what profession/professional actually mean and looking into some realities of professionalisation of youth work e.g. from Croatia and Switzerland. Plus we hear about the European Training Strategy and two strong opinions from experienced youth workers on the current situation of the profession.
And last but not least we let young people and youth workers have their say: Ingigerður and Óli are our young person/youth worker duo from Iceland this time and Carolyn and Terencia came to visit from Indiana in the United States and share some of their thoughts.
