Youth Work: Pride and Prejudice

In the framework of the Capacity Building Project “European Wide Web of Youth Work” POYWE is currently developing an online course for youth workers. Join us and share your experience, discuss principles of your work with colleagues and learn about approaches and trends in Europe.

Application will open in September – watch www.poywe.org

Europe goes local

POYWE is a member of the Steering Group of Europe Goes Local, a long-term cooperation within the Erasmus+ youth programme to support youth work at the municipal level. The project undertook a mapping process of the situation of municipal youth work and established national expert groups in almost all participating countries, who met for a first exchange of needs and ideas in May in Ljubljana.

In the coming two years “Europe goes local” will offer room for exchange, create background documents, organise conferences for collaboration and support activities on local level. Join the community and follow the developments here.

The International Journal of Open Youth Work

The International Journal of Open Youth Work aims to privilege the narrative of youth work practice, methodology and reality. It is a peer-reviewed journal providing research and practice-based investigation, provocative discussion and analysis on issues affecting youth work globally. The Journal will present youth work issues and research in a way that is accessible and reader-friendly, but which retains scholarly integrity.

The first edition was published in the beginning of 2017 and can be found online here. The second edition is currently in the making – stay tuned!

It will bring inspirational inputs, sharing of experiences, reflecting on the role of youth workers, field visits and loads of hands on stuff. European framework and strategic planning will also not be left out.

We will welcome around 100 youth workers from all over Europe in Vienna, application will start end of August on the SALTO Training Calendar – so register for notifications from there or follow us on facebook for more information on the conference.
